| Dimension | Peroxydes organiques | Initiateurs AZO |
|---|---|---|
| What they are | Radical initiators that decompose to release free radicals; the workhorse for PVC, polyolefin, and FRP curing. | Low-temperature azo radical initiators used for vinyl polymerization and chemical blowing (foaming). |
| Decomposition temperature | Broad range (~40-200 C) - a grade for nearly every process window. | Lower-temperature control (~30-120 C) - ideal for heat-sensitive systems. |
| Typical physical form | Liquids, pastes, and solids (e.g., DCP, MEKP, peroxydicarbonates). | Crystalline powders (e.g., AIBN, ABVN, AIBME) and water-soluble grades. |
| Best suited for | PVC, LDPE, thermoset composites (FRP), rubber crosslinking, wire & cable. | Acrylics, emulsion polymerization, ABS, and foam blowing agents. |
| Key advantage | Wide decomposition range and high radical yield for demanding cures. | Cleaner decomposition (no carboxyl by-products) and precise low-temp control. |
